# Installing the pump adapter assembly

### Preliminary requirements

### Procedure

Both the hydraulic pump side and the transmission drive side of the pump driveshaft assembly must be lubricated.

1. Apply Grease (C-525) to the internal splines of the pump driveshaft assembly.
2. Install the gasket on the oil pump.
3. Engage and install the pump driveshaft assembly on the shaft of the oil pump.
4. Install the pump adapter assembly on the oil pump.
5. Install the washers and the nuts on the pump adapter assembly.
6. Torque the nuts 75 to 95 inch-pounds (5.6 to 7.9 Nm) plus tare torque 3.5 to 30 inch-pounds (.4 to 3.4 Nm).
