# Air Intake

## Preliminary requirements

### Required Conditions

* [ ] Remove left intake assembly half.
* [ ] Remove right intake assembly half.

## Procedure

1. Examine the Inlet Barrier Filter (IBF) structural assembly for damage on two sides of the assembly.
2. If the filter is damaged, continue as follows
   1. Remove the filter assembly from the IBF structural assembly.
   2. If the IBF web structure is damaged, drill through the sheet metal structure until the damage diameter.
3. If the corner brackets of the IBF assembly are damaged, do as follows
   1. If the damage is less than 0.004 inch (0.102 mm), blend the damage smooth. Keep 10 to 1 minimum width to depth ratio.
   2. If the damage is more than 0.004 inch (0.102 mm), replace the side angles as follows
      1. Remove the rivets and side angles.
      2. Wet install the replacement side angles and rivets in [Sealant](#consumables).
4. Apply [Chemical film material ](#consumables)and [Epoxy polyamide primer ](#consumables)to the bare metal surfaces. Seal all the edges that connect with [Sealant](#consumables).
5. Install the filters of the Inlet Barrier Filter IBF assembly.

## Requirements after job completion

### Required Conditions

* [ ] Install the right intake assembly half.
* [ ] Install the left intake assembly half.
