Procedure

  1. Examine the Inlet Barrier Filter (IBF) structural assembly for damage on two sides of the assembly.

  2. If the filter is damaged, continue as follows

    1. Remove the filter assembly from the IBF structural assembly.

    2. If the IBF web structure is damaged, drill through the sheet metal structure until the damage diameter.

  3. If the corner brackets of the IBF assembly are damaged, do as follows

    1. If the damage is less than 0.004 inch (0.102 mm), blend the damage smooth. Keep 10 to 1 minimum width to depth ratio.

    2. If the damage is more than 0.004 inch (0.102 mm), replace the side angles as follows

      1. Remove the rivets and side angles.

      2. Wet install the replacement side angles and rivets in Sealant.

  4. Apply Chemical film material and Epoxy polyamide primer to the bare metal surfaces. Seal all the edges that connect with Sealant.

  5. Install the filters of the Inlet Barrier Filter IBF assembly.
