Safety conditions

MAKE SURE YOU OBEY ALL OF THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN YOU USE SOLVENTS. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS.

Procedure

Do a torque check of the attaching hardware on the pillow block assemblies as follows:

  1. Do a torque check of the attaching hardware on the pillow block assemblies. Make sure that the value is between 84 and 107 inch-pounds (9.5 and 12 Nm).

  2. Make sure that the anti-slippage marks stayed aligned. If not, contact Product Support Engineering (PSE) for more information.

  3. Apply corrosion preventive compound (C-101) to the exposed areas of the attaching hardware.

  4. Apply torque seal (C-049) on the attaching hardware of the pillow block assemblies.

Do a detailed inspection of the boosted bellcrank assembly spherical bearings as follows:

  1. Clean the boosted bellcrank assemblies with a clean cloth (C-516) moistened with drycleaning solvent (C-304).

  2. Examine the boosted bellcrank assembly spherical bearings for dents, nicks, scratches, and tool marks.

  3. Examine the boosted bellcrank assembly spherical bearings for cracks and corrosion.

  4. If there is damage to the boosted bellcrank assembly spherical bearings and/or play, refer to BHT-505-MM for permitted damage.

  5. Make sure that the boosted bellcrank assemblies are correctly installed.
