It is intended that the Component Restoration (Overhaul) section provide a breakdown of the repair and overhaul of the BELL 505 components. It is designed to aid persons enrolled in a formal course of instruction, as well as the individual who is studying on his or her own.
This guide is not intended to replace, substitute for, or supersede official regulations or the manufacturer’s instructions.
The provides all the procedures and data necessary to restore the BELL 505 components. The instructions provided in the 505-CMM and those modified either by issued by BELL, or by Airworthiness Directives (AD) issued by the local Aviation Authority, shall be strictly followed.
The manufacture recommends to restore (overhaul) the following components at specified intervals:
Main rotor hub assembly
2400 flight hours
Swashplate and support assembly
4800 flight hours
Mast assembly
3000 flight hours
Transmission assembly
4500 flight hours
Freewheel assembly
3000 flight hours
Tail rotor hub assembly
2500 flight hours
Tail rotor gearbox
6000 flight hours
