Safety conditions

Use a ground power unit, if available, to prevent draining the battery of its stored electrical power.

Procedure

  1. Make sure that the circuit breaker (2350CB1) is closed.

  2. Verify audio panel volume adequately adjusts PILOT, COPLT and PASS ICS volume

  3. Push and hold the PILOT pushbutton on the audio panel to make sure that it is in mono mode and do one of the steps that follow:

    1. If you hear the message "3D audio left/right", push and hold the PILOT pushbutton again.

    2. If you hear the message "Standard audio", go to step 2.

  4. Push the PILOT, COPLT, and PASS pushbuttons on the audio panel.

  5. Make sure that the PILOT, COPLT, and PASS annunciators show on the audio panel.

  6. Speak into the pilot microphone.

  7. Make sure that your voice is heard in the pilot and the copilot headsets.

  8. Make sure that your voice is heard at all passenger positions with the headsets from the pilot position.

  9. Reconnect the headsets to the copilot headset jack and speak into the copilot microphone.

  10. Make sure that your voice is heard in the pilot and the copilot headsets.

  11. Make sure that your voice is heard at all passenger positions with the headsets from the copilot position.

  12. Reconnect the headsets to the pilot headset jack.

  13. Turn the volume control on the audio panel up and then down.

  14. Make sure that the volume in the pilot and the copilot headsets changes.

The necessary audio is heard only in the pilot headset when the audio panel circuit breaker is open to make sure that the pilot can hear external communications and Crew Alerting System (CAS) alerts and that he can speak on the speech communication system.

  1. Open circuit breaker (2350CB1).

  2. Do the speech communication operation test for the pilot position only.

  3. Make sure that:

    1. You hear the transmission clearly in the pilot headset.

    2. You hear the reception of the local station signal clearly in the pilot’s headset.

    3. The receive indicator does not show on the audio panel.

  4. Do the central warning system operation test for the pilot position only.

  5. Make sure that the aural alert is heard in the pilot headset.

  6. Close the circuit breaker (2350CB1).

  7. Push the COM1 and MIC1 pushbuttons on the audio panel.

  8. Make sure that only the COM1 and MIC1 annunciators show.

  9. Push any of the other pushbuttons with an annunciator that shows to select it to “OFF”.

  10. Pull the trigger on the pilot cyclic to the up position, speak “MIC 2” into the pilot microphone, and release the trigger.

  11. Make sure that the COM2 and MIC2 annunciators show on the audio panel.

  12. Pull the trigger on the pilot cyclic to the up position, speak “MIC 2” into the pilot microphone, and release the trigger.

  13. Make sure that the COM2 and MIC2 annunciators do not show on the audio panel.
