MAKE SURE YOU OBEY ALL OF THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN YOU USE SOLVENTS. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS.
DO NOT ALLOW SOLVENT TO MAKE CONTACT WITH PARTS MADE OF ELASTOMERIC MATERIAL OR DAMAGE WILL OCCUR.
Procedure
Do a special detailed inspection of the main rotor blades, as follows:
If installed, remove the erosion tape.
Make sure the main rotor blades are clean. If not, clean the main rotor blades with a clean cloth (C-516) moistened with drycleaning solvent (C-304) .
SN: 65011-SUB: If edge voids are found between root end grip plates and doublers, refer to ASB 505-20-19 for instructions.
Examine the main rotor blades for erosion, corrosion, damage, dis-bonding, or wear.
Examine the doublers for cracks and corrosion.
Examine the doublers for delamination with a tap hammer.
Examine the leading edge of the main rotor blades for corrosion and erosion.
Examine the trailing edge of the main rotor blades for corrosion and erosion.
Examine the tip weight cap for corrosion, cracks, erosion, and deformation.
If the main rotor blades are removed from the hub assembly, then inspect blade bushing.
If applicable, install new erosion tape.
If there is damage to the main rotor blades, refer to BHT-505-MM for permitted damage.
